The global health pandemic Covid-19 has unavoidably interfered with and impeded the delivery of education in South Africa, and has had a lasting effect on our methods of teaching and learning.
While this pandemic presented new challenges for many pupils, teachers and parents all over the world, its influence has been felt even more so among those in disadvantaged communities from rural areas in developing countries such as ours, and continues to affect their daily lives.
A generous donation in the form of two high quality projector systems to the value of R20 000 each from Peripheral Vision, is a sure way to not only positively change this narrative for scholars in rural disadvantaged schools but also aims to renew the hopes of those scholars who, as a result of this global disaster, were unable to continue with school for an extended period of time. As we approach the festive season and Christmas being a time to share gifts, this donation could not have come at a better time. This donation ties up well with rhe Siyandisa Foundation Scholarship Programme’s high quality educational video material at matric level can now be shared among even larger communities of matriculants, allowing for a wider reach of the learning resources we provide to our Scholarship Recipients, who all come from disadvantaged schools and communities.
With social distancing regulations and other safety measures that still need to be observed, these projectors will undoubtedly assist with adherence hereto.
The Siyandisa Foundation Scholarship Programme greatly values donors and sponsors who hold hands with our Foundation to build on the legacy of the programme and add value to the future of deserving learners, their schools and their communities alike. Peripheral Vision is one such donor and we have no doubt that through this initiative we will together make a positive difference in the lives of the learners who stand to benefit from these resources.
This support the motto of Siyandisa Foundation, which is to forge partnerships that help grow South Africa, and add even more value to the work we do.
